My passion is to help people feel better and more connected to themselves, their loved ones, and life.
I believe the body inherently seeks health and healing.
I have seen the “unseen” since I was a young girl. It has been a life-long process in honing these gifts. I have studied a variety of healing modalities since 1995 when I became certified in Massage Therapy. I received a Masters Degree in Holistic Health Education/Somatic Psychology with a certificate in the treatment of Addictive Behaviors. I decided at that time not to pursue a traditional career in counseling as state licensing would prohibit me from doing any hands-on work with my clients.
For my graduate internship I went to an Indigenous Addiction Treatment Center in Thailand (Wat Thamkrabok) that was also a Buddhist Monastery. This is a special and sacred place that formed itself in 1957. They utilize plants, herbs, special saunas, and deep Buddhist faith in the treatment of addiction. I began to grow a relationship with the two magical brothers who ran the Monastery. The older brother, Luang Poh Chamroon Panchand, was the Abbot of the Monastery and had a gift for gazing into people’s eyes to see where their spirit was out of balance. He would then give them a mantra to say everyday to bring themselves back into balance. His younger brother, Luang Poh Charoen Panchand, was a magical alchemist who lived alone in the forests of Thailand for 15 years studying the elements and creation before settling into the monastery. He took over the Monastery after his brother died in 1999. I went back to this Monastery several times before Luang Poh died in 2008.
I received a couple of different initiations with him to allow me to channel his work. Part of the vow a monk or nun takes in their monastery is to only travel by foot for the rest of their life. He told me I was to be one of his “representatives” out in the world. He used stones for a variety of alchemy and healing. He believed they were the source of all wisdom. I used to take him rocks from different places in the world and he would tell me about the people, and life there. His wisdom and healing are a foundation of my work.
After my internship in Thailand, I graduated from the Center for Sacred Studies Stargate Mystery School and went on to study the use of Maitri Breathwork as a modality for healing on a variety of levels. My graduate thesis focused on the use of non-ordinary states to treat addiction, which was also part of my study in Thailand. I became certified in Maitri Breathwork and began working with individuals and groups to facilitate healing and balance. I am deeply passionate about the power of Maitri as a tool for healing, and went on to teach the 2-year Facilitator Training Program.
I have worked in a few different traditional addiction treatment centers here in the United States, and realized that I wanted to hone my skills and gifts in Indigenous Healing. I have seen the most profound, lasting, and integrative healing happen with Indigenous Healing from around the world.
In 2001, I began my apprenticeship with what is referred to as a Grand Master Healer from Gabon, Africa. This means she has been through more than 21 different initiations in 3 different lines of Traditional Healing, which date back to the Pygmy people. My training is still ongoing, and I have been through 7 different initiations in two different lines of Traditional African Healing. Traditional Healing has lived deep inside of their culture for thousands of years and it is the Traditional Medicine Healer or Shaman that people visit before an allopathic doctor. In Indigenous Healing/Traditional Healing it is believed that all ailments stem from an imbalance in Spirit, and this is what is first addressed.
Native American Healing
The third part of my training in Indigenous Healing is with Native American Ways. I have several teachers/mentors and adopted family that continue to teach me. It is a way of life for my family. Through ceremony, sweat lodge, and prayer I continue to learn about working with the elements to bring people, places, and relations back into balance.
Integrating Indigenous Healing
I decided to take all of my training and apprenticing and create a year-long addiction treatment program in the foothills of Sonora. It was a holistic approach to encourage each participant to get more in touch with themselves and nature, thus allowing the core of the addiction to begin to heal. It was deeply transformative, healing, and empowering for both the staff and participants.
I have been with my husband for 18 years and am the Mom to two girls. All of my very intense initiations, ceremony, and training's in Traditional Healing were mild compared to the journey my youngest daughter took myself, family, and community through. She went into sudden heart failure at 3 months of age, was in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at Lucille Packard Children's Hospital for a very complicated and difficult 9 months, resulting in a heart transplant with major complications. I believe in miracles because it is a miracle that she got to be with us for 5 years. Dyllan went back home to God in July 2015.
This journey continues to drive me deeper into the arms of God/Spirit for solace, guidance, and some level of understanding. I lived between the worlds of life and death, heaven and earth, for more than a year during her first year of life. It was by far the most potent initiation I have been through, until I began my journey of grieving her...! She is a profound teacher to me, and has taught me to be grateful each day for life, to love deeply, and to be happy!
This journey with my daughter and my family has brought a depth, potency, and clarity to my healing work that I am grateful for. I weave all of my training and experience to bring healing, balance, and restoration to those I work with. Learn more about my practice at DaoCloud.
